Stockdale To Leave Tigers

Hull City right-back Robbie Stockdale will not have his contract renewed by Hull City.

The Tigers defender hasn’t played a game during the team’s Championship campaign after falling out of favour with manager Peter Taylor towards the end of the Tigers League 1 promotion.

Stockdale did join League 2 outfit Darlington on a month’s loan deal towards the end of the season but that didn’t do enough to earn him a place back in the Tigers team.

With so many problems at the right-back position this season, Stockdale was never even considered a solution and this showed he had no future at the club.

Stockdale will now have to look for another club but I am sure someone will snap him up. He has experience at both international and club level and would be a good player for any League 1 or 2 clubs.

Stockdale is the first player to be cut from the squad and I expect many more to follow shortly as Taylor assesses what he does and doesn’t need for next season.

We at Vital Hull wish him all the best for the future!
